Wild olive tree, glass medallion, International Festival of glass

I exhibited this year as part of The International Festival of Glass at The Ruskin Glass Centre, Stourbridge. The medallions exhibition organised by the CGS took the Olympic theme.

Thinking about embroidered badge awards I wanted to create a textile master that I could translate into a glass medal.  This is the master I created using free hand machine embroidery and hand stitch work.  I chose to represent the Wild Olive tree from Mount Olympus.
